Preparations for the 2020 meeting on hold
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic (new coronavirus), the organizing team of Spitzen Leichtathletik Luzern has slowed down preparations for the 34th edition of the meeting. The planned work has been postponed for the time being, and all relevant expenses will be stopped until May 1. The organizing committee will decide on the further procedure at the beginning of May and inform the public. In any case, the OC is willing to fully implement the requirements of the authorities to protect the population.
The effects on athletics and the planned meetings are currently difficult to predict, both on the part of the organizers and the federations. Not least because many athletes are currently unable to train properly due to the coronavirus epidemic. For the athletes, the focus this year is on the Olympic Games in Tokyo. Whether the Summer Games take place as planned or are postponed, will also affect the planning of Spitzen Leichtathletik Luzern.
