First Swiss top athletes confirm participation

On July 15th, the international Spitzen Leichtathletik Luzern meeting will take place at the Allmend Stadium. The meeting organizers have gathered numerous top Swiss athletes. Hurdler Jason Joseph and middle-distance runner Dominic Lobalu have already confirmed their participation.

Spitzen Leichtathletik Luzern garners attention far beyond national borders. The third-largest athletics meeting in Switzerland is broadcast to over 75 countries, which is reflected each year in the starting list. Olympic champions have already made their appearance here. “The proximity to the audience makes our meeting unique, as does the focus on young talent,” says meeting manager Stefan Tock. Young Swiss athletes have the opportunity to gain experience in front of a larger audience. As they grow, they repay the meeting with their presence. This year will be no exception.

Diamond League Winner at the Start

Jason Joseph recently won his first Diamond League race in Rome, capturing the 110-meter hurdles in an impressive 13.14 seconds. Dominic Lobalu set a new Swiss record in the 5000 meters at the Oslo meeting – both will be competing in Lucerne on July 15th. According to Stefan Tock, there is a good chance that additional national and international stars will participate. "We are currently in discussions with various athletes," said Tock, though he did not reveal who they are yet. In addition to the wheelchair race and youth competitions, this year’s program for Spitzen Leichtathletik Luzern also includes "Training with the Stars." Children ages 10 to 13 will have the unique opportunity to train with their idols starting at 5 PM on the Sunday before the meeting. Registration via https://spitzenleichtathletik.ch/training.
